Restoring Your Smile

Posted on February 23rd, 2017 by

Restorative dentistry is a series of processes and procedures designed to help make your smile the best it can be, including replacing missing teeth and fixing cracked or broken teeth. At Art Of Modern Dentistry, we can help bring back your smile with various restorative treatments, such as fillings, crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, and dental implants. Restorative dentistry can help preserve your natural teeth, and can help prevent additional cavities and decay. Read on to learn more about the various treatments we offer.

Fillings

The most common restorative dental procedure, fillings help restore the surface of a tooth after a cavity, or repair a broken tooth. The filling replaces the decayed part of the tooth, preserving the healthy part. Various types of fillings are available, including gold, porcelain, and plastic.

Crowns

A crown is a “cap” that fits over the natural tooth, restoring appearance and consistency with your other teeth. Crowns are often placed over teeth that are cracked, chipped, or damaged in other ways. They are often made of stainless steel, ceramic, or metal.

Bridges

Bridges are inserted in the place of a missing tooth – they “bridge” the gap between two existing teeth. They are anchored on either side by crowns, with an artificial tooth called a pontic placed in between, and are made of metals or porcelain.

Veneers

If you have multiple teeth that are uneven or chipped, veneers may be a good fit for you. Veneers are often made of porcelain and are fitted to the upper and lower front teeth, creating an improved appearance and a brighter smile.

Dentures

Dentures sometimes replace the entire set of natural teeth, while others fill in gaps created by missing teeth. They are removable and can help restore the appearance of your natural smile.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are metal posts that are placed in the socket of a missing tooth and covered by a crown. They are strong and durable and can last for many years.

I was a little hesitant to come here after reading some reviews on Yelp but decided to give it a try after being reassured by Millie (who is really sweet and pleasant) over the phone, and I'm really happy I did. The office is beautiful, modern, and clean, something that really makes a difference for me going to the dentist. They were very prompt, I didn't have
to wait long to see the dentist.

I've been a Art of Modern Dentistry patient for almost a decade at both the South Loop and Lincoln Park locations. Currently I go to the LP office and have to say these are the bets dental pros in Chicago. From the hygienists, to the doctors, to the office staff everyone is professional, nice, and wonderful at their job.

I was blown away by the warm energy that radiated from the staff. They made sure that I understood everything and knew what the cost would be before we moved forward. Each person took the time to sit with me and explain the process. These people clearly love their job, their co-workers, and have a passion for assisting their clients with their dental health.
