All About In-Office Zoom Teeth Whitening

The Procedure
The whitening session alone is expected to take less than an hour, but it is recommended you also receive a teeth cleaning before a Zoom teeth whitening session. Your lips and gums will be moved to display your teeth prominently for the procedure. The dentist will then apply a gel to your teeth that will work together with the Zoom light to remove and break up any stains and discoloration on your teeth. You will likely go through three 15 minute sessions of gel and light treatment, totaling 45 minutes.
The Aftercare
After the treatment, you should continue practicing good dental health to keep your teeth as white as possible. If you follow typical dental suggestions for healthy teeth, such as avoiding coffee, continuing to floss, etc., this will help keep your Zoom treatment looking fresh for longer.
At certain dental offices that do teeth whitening in Chicago, such as Art of Modern Dentistry, you will be offered a home-use touch up kit that includes custom-fitted whitening trays. Use these as directed by your dentist.
The Cost
The cost of the procedure will understandably depend on the dental office, but the average cost is around $500. Because teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure, it is not covered by many insurances. Be sure to check your dental coverage before undergoing any dental treatment!
Good Candidates
