Benefits of Invisalign Over Traditional Braces

Invisalign in Lincoln Park

The negatives of crooked or misaligned teeth range from looking unsightly to making it difficult to clean your teeth to risking gum and bone damage as well as tooth loss. For a long time, wearing metal braces seemed to be the only solution, until now. At Art of Modern Dentistry, we offer Invisalign services in the Lincoln Park area and strongly promote Invisalign because of its many benefits over traditional braces.

Benefits of Invisalign over Traditional Braces

Invisalign braces are barely noticeable, making them more appealing than metal braces that are unsightly chunks of metal and clearly visible. Metal braces are prone to getting food caught in them without the wearer being aware of it, and adults are much more embarrassed that once they open their mouth it is clear they have braces. Most people can’t tell when someone is wearing Invisalign, making them much more attractive.

Once metal braces are attached to someone’s teeth, they must remain in place until a professional decides it’s time for them to be removed and they have to remove them. Invisalign clear braces are removable, if you want to take them out while eating or drinking something tricky, you can easily do so without even consulting a professional. This makes it much easier for the wearer to feel in control and more comfortable.

Invisalign reduces damage to teeth and gums. Metal braces are made of wire and have bits of metal that stick out and can scratch or puncture the inside of your mouth and gums. Invisalign braces are smooth and comfortable with no sharp edges or metal bits sticking out. Metal braces can also affect decaying teeth because they use very strong force to straighten your teeth. All in all, Invisalign reduces the damage normally caused by wearing braces, including gum disease and cavities.

Duration of Treatment

Invisalign takes about one year to a year and a half to complete treatment and straighten your teeth. Metal braces can take up to five years and it is never immediately clear when your treatment will be done.

Knowing What to Expect

Metal braces are more of a trial-and-error type situation that have on clear idea of when you will be able to get them off. Invisalign treatment is fully computerized and you know exactly what to expect and how long you will need braces before you wear them.
Overall, Invisalign has become a more beneficial path of treatment and Art of Modern Dentistry seeks to educate residents of Lincoln Park on Invisalign services so that they have a quick, easy experience that results in straight pearly whites.

I was a little hesitant to come here after reading some reviews on Yelp but decided to give it a try after being reassured by Millie (who is really sweet and pleasant) over the phone, and I'm really happy I did. The office is beautiful, modern, and clean, something that really makes a difference for me going to the dentist. They were very prompt, I didn't have
to wait long to see the dentist.

I was blown away by the warm energy that radiated from the staff. They made sure that I understood everything and knew what the cost would be before we moved forward. Each person took the time to sit with me and explain the process. These people clearly love their job, their co-workers, and have a passion for assisting their clients with their dental health.
