Infection Control
At Art of Modern Dentistry, we place an emphasis on taking universal precautions in infection control for both our patients and our staff to eliminate the risk of future complications. Below are some of the ways in which Art of Modern Dentistry prevents infections from spreading throughout our dental office and beyond.
The staff at Art of Modern Dentistry follows the health and safety regulations put into place by a number of federal agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) so that you can have the confidence knowing that we will take care of your smile.
Some of these procedures include:
- All dental hygienists, dental assistants and dentists will use gloves, face masks and eye wear when they are examining your mouth
- Washing hands before putting on another pair of gloves
- We use only disposable materials when possible
- Using chemical disinfectants on surfaces and countertops multiple times per day
- Disinfectant hand soap always accessible
- Equipment sterilization every time it is used
We sterilize all of our reusable equipment so that each patient is treated with a fresh, clean set of equipment. In order to perform this sterilization, we use an autoclave, which is a piece of equipment that uses steam, heat and pressure to kill bacteria and viruses.
Information is the best way to fight against the spread of disease. The more information you have, the easier it will be to make important decisions about your oral care. We are eager to tell you more about our normal procedures and policies so that you can feel more comfortable with our level of care.
We provide our quality services to patients throughout the Chicago area. If you are interested in our dental services or if you have more questions about our sanitation process, please contact our team today.
